The Market Hall achieves major milestone in Emergency Preparedness Training

The Market Hall division of Ali Bin Ali Holding successfully completed two internationally recognized safety certifications across all its stores and office. The achievement positioned The Market Hall as one of the largest teams within Ali Bin Ali Holding to attain the significant milestone in workplace safety and emergency preparedness.

The certifications were:

  • Highfield Level 2 International Award in Fire Safety for Fire Wardens
  • Highfield Level 3 International Award in Emergency First Aid at Work and Use of an AED

Over a two-month period, training sessions were coordinated by QHSE Executive Ms. Cristina Pineda and conducted at both ABA Tower and Place Vendôme Mall. A total of 111 employees passed their Highfield assessments, equipping them with vital knowledge and skills to respond effectively during emergencies.

The certification breakdown included 65 associates certified in both Fire Safety and First Aid under the Highfield Level 2 Fire Safety for Fire Wardens program; and 46 associates certified under the Highfield Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work and Use of an AED program.

Speaking at the trainings Ms. Pineda explained that the certifications reflected the company’s deep commitment to ensuring health, safety, and confidence in its employees. “By investing in this level of preparedness, we are empowering our teams to respond decisively when every second counts,” she stated.

The internationally recognized Highfield qualifications provided participants with essential, life-saving competencies, from administering first aid and confidently operating AEDs to taking immediate, informed action during fire emergencies.

Mr. Chadi Bou Antoun, the Country Manager of The Market Hall, added, “This milestone underscores our ongoing mission to create a secure, responsive, and caring workplace environment. Safety is part of who we are.”

Through this achievement, The Market Hall will continue to reinforce its proactive safety culture and unwavering dedication to the well-being of its employees, customers, and the wider community.

QHSE Department conducts first aid trainings in line with Highfield International Standards

Ali Bin Ali’s QHSE Department recently completed comprehensive first aid trainings on, “Highfield Level 3 International Award in Emergency First Aid at Work and the Use of an AED.” The trainings, held throughout September 2024 in the Holding’s training room, saw participation from 51 employees across various divisions, all eager to enhance their first aid skills for both workplace and personal safety.

The trainings aimed to improve employees’ knowledge and preparedness to effectively respond to emergencies. Participants focused on several topics related to first response to injuries and accidents, including: the importance of first aid in the workplace, the responsibilities of the first aider, and how to conduct incident assessments such as primary and secondary scene surveys. Effective communication during emergencies was also emphasized.

The trainings similarly covered essential principles of resuscitation, an overview of the respiratory system, and techniques for CPR, including adult basic life support. Employees learned to recognize and respond to choking incidents, identify types of bleeding, manage wounds, and address embedded objects. Additionally, they were educated on managing shock and seizures, as well as treating minor injuries such as cuts, grazes, burns, and foreign objects.

The benefits of the trainings for Ali Bin Ali Holding are significant. By equipping employees with essential first aid skills, the Holding not only enhances workplace safety but also empowers its staff to act confidently in emergencies. This preparedness minimizes the risk of injury and can potentially save lives. A safer workplace leads to higher morale and productivity, as employees feel more secure in their environment.

The QHSE Department is committed to empowering more employees to prioritize safety in the workplace and looks forward to future training initiatives.
