FORWARD ERP teams fight it out at Qatar Bowling Center

 

Taking a break from their hectic work schedule, members of the FORWARD pilot divisions and Project Management Team gathered for the much-anticipated FORWARD Bowling Tournament. 

Held at Qatar Bowling Center on Tuesday, January 30, 2017, the event generated a lot of excitement. 

The tournament featured a total of 12 teams, with five bowlers each, from the ABA Head Office HR, Admin, ABA Finance, ABA Printing Press, QQP, Head Office IT and ERP PMO. 

FORWARD Project Executive Sponsor/COO ICT Mr. Mohamad A. Ebrik, ABA PMO Manager Mr. Youssef Farajallah Mahmoud and Intrasoft’s Mr. Amer Dakhqan were present on the occasion and participated in the tournament.

The teams were all set to give their best shot as they gathered for the event at 7:30pm. After a thrilling and competitive first round, the top six teams – HR Team 1, HR Team 2, IT, ABA Finance, Printing Press and QQP– made it to the next and final round. 

While all the finalists scored an impressive total, the HR Team 1, under the captaincy of Mr. Ajay Daniel John, played exceptionally well to win the tournament with a score of 600 points. 

The Finance Team bagged the second position with a total of 518 points.

The winning teams were presented trophies and medals by Mr. Youssef and Group Corporate Communications Manager Mr. Imad Hashim.

Also, Mr. Naresh Kumar – winner of the FORWARD Facebook contest – was awarded a gift voucher for answering all the questions correctly.

Speaking about the event, Mr. Ebrik said: “It was a well-deserved break for the entire team and we all had a fun evening. The team has been working relentlessly and have not taken a break since the first Go Live in February 2017. I believe that we should have more such team building activities as we roll-out in other divisions.” 

 

Ali Bin Ali Medical & Q Care Medical sponsor the 14th Gulf Heart Association Conference

 

In line with the efforts undertaken by the Ali Bin Ali Group to support and enhance the healthcare sector in Qatar, the Group’s Medical divisions sponsored the 14th Gulf Heart Association Conference.

 

It was a great opportunity for Ali Bin Ali Medical and Q Care Medical to participate in the annual conference, which took place at the Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Center from January 11 to 13, 2018.

 

More than 20 eminent international experts, along with distinguished local faculty from various Gulf and Middle East countries, presented the most recent, cutting-edge information on different topics related to cardiovascular medicine.

 

The event was held under the patronage of Her Excellency Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, Minister of Public Health, who visited all the booths of the exhibitors during the opening ceremony.

 

The conference was inaugurated with an impressive presentation from Dr. Hajar Al- Binali, conference chairman, who showcased the impressive efforts and initiatives from all staff and management of Hamad Medical Corporation under his leadership, from the beginning of cardiology treatments in Rumailah Hospital through establishing the Heart hospital.

 

The total number of participants at the conference was over 200.

 

The event gave the opportunity to attendees to update themselves on the latest research in the field and also network with local and international experts. The conference was accompanied by an exhibition that gave ABA Medical and Q Care Medical the opportunity to introduce their cardiology related products to new and prospective customers.

 

Both ABA Medical and Q Care Medical had their individual booths at the exhibition where both presented its principals in the cardiac field. ABA Medical presented – Medtronic and Siemens Healthineers, while Q Care Medical presented –   Corindus, and SION TECC.

 

Speaking about the event, General Manager of ABA Medical & Q Care Medical Mr. Zuhdi Z Al-Jaouni said: “it was with great pride that we represented ABA Group at the 14th Gulf Heart Association Conference. It was a perfect opportunity to showcase our products and meet potential customers. We also got to learn a lot about recent developments in the cardiac research field and will use this knowledge for the advancement of cardiac care in Qatar.”

Team ABAP wins 15th ABA Cricket Tournament

Continuing with its tradition, Ali Bin Ali Group recently organized the 15th edition of the ABA Cricket Tournament. The event, through which ABA Group upheld its continued commitment to sports, was won by Ali Bin Ali & Partners – CAG Team, while the IA/PCP-1 Team finished runners-up in the tournament.

 

This year, the ABA Cricket Tournament was held at the Old Ideal Indian School Ground on January 4 and 5. More than 200 enthusiastic ABA employees and their families supported and enjoyed the exciting display of skills on the pitch.

 

Mr. Sampath Balaji, GM Finance – FMCG; Mr. Mohammad Imran, GM Dohatna/Prime Distribution; and Mr. Viji Kurien, GM – IA, were present at the game to encourage the participants.

 

Twelve teams from across ABA Group, viz, Dohatna/Prime Distribution (2 teams), IA/PCP (2 teams), ABAP-FMCG, ABA-HO, ABAP-CAG, ABATS, ABA Beverage (Pepsi), Al Danah, Monoprix, and ABA Logistics participated in the tournament. 

 

After a thrilling semi-final against the Logistics team, which went to the ‘Super Over’, the ABAP – CAG Team emerged victorious. The Man of the Series award was bagged by Mr. Anil John for his great batting skills, while the Man of the Match honor went to Mr. Suhas Sainudheen Vakattayil for his unbeaten 63 runs in the final against IA/PCP-1, both representing the ABAP-CAG team.

 

Speaking about the event, Mr. Imran said: “It is always a pleasure to see such a display of sporting skills. We are all lucky to be part of an organization that encourages sporting activities. The excitement generated by the cricket tournament was felt by the fans and spectators who attended the event. The teams ensured that the fun atmosphere was matched by some quality cricket on the field.”
